Anthony is visiting Kingscliff for longboarding championships and is experiencing back pain that becomes so painful at times that he can’t walk.
He was prescribed stretches, and this removes pain sometimes.
Stretches are only a temporary fix for back pain.
It might remove the pain temporarily, but if you don’t strengthen the muscles that haven’t been working, the pain will return.
Any form of pain we experience is from instability.
A muscle somewhere in the body, isn’t contracting, so the opposing area has to do more work than it can handle, resulting in pain and discomfort.
In this video we take Anthony through some specific exercises to relieve him of his back pain, and in a sense, get his muscles primed at the beginning of the session so then whenever he does other movement, the weaker muscles are switched on and building strength which will fix the problem permanently.
